By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Horseshoer John T. Plant (ASN: 1038280), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Private Plant served with his battery courageously and efficiently during the entire operation on the Marne, at St. Mihiel, and in the Argonne. During the engagement on the Marne on the night of 15 July 1918, after doing his regular work all day, he volunteered to drive a team and hauled ammunition until he was wounded on 10 October 1918.
