By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Isaac G. Siemons, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery C, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Sergeant Siemons displayed exceptional coolness and courage in the Marne Defensive, 15 – 18 July 1918. He served the guns of his battery for three days, all of the time under heavy enemy fire, ceasing only when wounded on 18 July 1918. His work later at St. Mihiel and in the Meuse-Argonne battle was of the highest type.
