    By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Sergeant Oscar D. Houston (ASN: 10388276), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Sergeant Houston served his Battery faithfully and courageously throughout the actions on the Marne, St. Mihiel and the Argonne. On the night of 14 – 15 July 1918, he was fearless and tireless in his efforts to get ammunition up to the battery, rendering valuable services in protecting his men and teams, aiding the wounded and on the morning of 16 July volunteered to conduct a search for First Lieutenant Winfred C. Green, exposing himself to terrific shell fire.
