By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Stable Sergeant Harry Nivison (ASN: 12038388), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Battery B, 10th Field Artillery Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Sergeant Nivison served his battery faithfully and courageously throughout the action on the Marne. On the night of 14 – 15 July 1918, he rendered valuable services to his Command by brining up fresh horses for the ammunition train after many horses had been killed, and on the morning of 15 July 1918, he voluntarily took charge of an ammunition train and conducted it safely to the battery position through terrific shell fire.
