    By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Wagoner William Rubus (ASN: 545360), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Supply Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, during the battle of the Marine, Wagoner Rubus carried ammunition and rations through the thickest of the German bombardment to the men of the 2d Battalion. He assisted voluntarily in getting men off the field and to the First Aid Station. In the Meuse-Argonne Offensive he made nightly trips to the front lines with ammunition and rations.
