By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Wagoner George M. McAdams (ASN: 2178484), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Supply Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in October 1918, Wagoner McAdams nightly drove rations to the front regardless of German artillery activity. Because of the loss of a great many of the animals of the wagon train of the 1st Battalion, this man’s team had to be used almost nightly, and though frequently offered substitute drivers he always refused.
