Robert Todd became a World War I ACE, credited with destroying 5 enemy airplanes in aerial combat. He netted his fifth victory on August 26, 1918, and was shot down himself and taken Prisoner of War, and held by the Germans until the Armistice on November 11. He returned to service in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.
