Flying with the Royal Air Force, Archibald Buchanan became a World War I ACE, credited with shooting down 7 enemy aircraft in aerial combat. He was shot down on October 17, 1918, and held as a Prisoner of War by the Germans until the Armistice on November 11, 1918.
