By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Everett S. Wilkinson (ASN: 1322904), United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Corporal Wilkinson distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company B, 115th Machine-Gun Battalion, 30th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Vaux-Andigny and Molain, France, 11 October 1918. With disregard for his personal safety, Corporal Wilkinson volunteered and led a carrying party across area swept by enemy artillery and machine gun fire with machine gun ammunition for Company A, 115th Machine-Gun Battalion, who were in designated positions in front of Vaux-Andigny, France, at that time.
