By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Captain (Infantry) Milo E. Terry, United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Captain Terry distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company H, 145th Infantry Regiment, 37th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Montfaucon, France, from 26 September to 30 September 1918. Although severely wounded, Captain Terry refused to be evacuated and continued in command of his company in action against the enemy for four days, under heavy fire of all arms and constantly in close contact. By his intrepid conduct and disregard of personal danger, he inspired the men of his company and contributed greatly to the success of the operation.
