Colonel Randle led his regiment in capturing 250 prisoners, a complete battery of field artillery, and accomplished his mission in getting the Second Armored Division ashore by seizing docks, organizing a beachhead, and overcoming enemy resistance. His gallant leadership and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
