    By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Corporal Moses M. Wallace (ASN: 2217122), United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Corporal Wallace distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company H, 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action at Fismette, France, 27 August 1918, while one of a group which continued to hold its position against superior numbers of the enemy while exposed to heavy machine gun fire.
