Morris (ASN: 1247188), United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Sergeant Morris distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company B, 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action near Chatel-Chehery, France, 8 October 1918, when, although suffering severe pain, he successfully directed the advance of his company in the attack against Chatel-Chehery and Hill 244.
