The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Second Lieutenant of Engineers Rene C. J. Prestaut, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. By his exceptional enthusiasm, good judgment, and untiring energy in the performance of his arduous duties as Instructor at the American Army Signal Schools at Langres, Second Lieutenant Prestaut proved himself of great value in the instruction of the Signal Corps of the American Expeditionary Forces.
