The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Major General Pierre A. Nudant, French Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As Commander, General Nudant rendered notable service in the field in Command of the 34th Army Corps. As a diplomat, his keen sense of the situation, his tact and firmness toward the enemy, sound judgment in questions of moment, and constant devotion to the cause of the Allies made his services as President of the Permanent International Armistice Commission conspicuously meritorious.
