The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Major Alessandro Guidoni, Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during World War I. As the Italian Technical Delegate to the Inter-allied Aviation Committee, Major Guidoni displayed unusual technical knowledge and perfect understanding of the various problems incident to aviation. He was most helpful in giving the American Air Service the benefit of his wide experience, and rendered most valuable assistance in solving technical problems with which we were often confronted.
