Colonel Reckord served with distinction as Commanding Officer of the 115th Infantry, 29th Division, at all times showing qualities of high military leadership and great tactical ability. Inspiring his men by his aggressive spirit and fervent devotion to his task, he led them with noted success through three weeks of constant action against the enemy during the operations north of Verdun.
