The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Colonel (Infantry) Charles Almon Hunt, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. Colonel Hunt Commanded first a Battalion of the 18th Infantry, 1st Division, and later the Regiment. He conducted his unit in every action with marked ability and skillful leadership, showing the finest qualities of good judgment, courage, and devotion to duty.
