The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant Colonel (Quartermaster Corps) George F. Graham, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Quartermaster, 42d Division, during the entire time of its operations from May until November 1918, by his zeal, indefatigable efforts, and unusual ability as an organizer and administrator, Lieutenant Colonel Graham solved many difficult problems under most adverse circumstances and assured the supply of the division at all times with those articles for which he was responsible, thereby rendering services of great value to the American Expeditionary Forces.
