The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant Colonel (Motor Transport Corps) Alden M. Graham, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Motor Transport Officer of the 3d Division and later of the 5th Army Corps during the entire Meuse-Argonne offensive, by his superior ability, skill, leadership, and capacity for organization Lieutenant Colonel Graham overcame most difficult conditions and maintained the transportation of the corps upon which the success of the operations so largely depended.
