The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Mr. Charles Eisenman, a United States Civilian, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I, as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Supplies, Council of National Defense. Mr. Eisenman’s energy, courage, business ability, and foresight did much to enlist American industry in the service of our country and thus make possible the prompt and proper equipment of our armies with clothing and equipage.
