The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant Colonel (Coast Artillery Corps) Edgar B. Colladay, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Executive Officer of the Cable Section, General Staff, during the World War, Lieutenant Colonel Colladay’s sound judgment, his marked ability, his untiring energy, and his willingness to accept grave responsibilities, contributed greatly to the successful operation of the cable business during the World War. Later, as Executive Officer of the Statistics Branch, General Staff, he assisted materially in collecting and compiling valuable statistics pertaining to the World War.
