    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy Distinguished Service Medal to Rear Admiral Albert Weston Grant, United States Navy, for exceptionally meritorious service in a duty of great responsibility as Commander of Battleship Force ONE, and further for the efficient manner in which he commanded the Atlantic Fleet in the Western Atlantic in the absence of the Commander In Chief during September, October, November and December 1918.
