Edward Eberle graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1885. He served from 1915 to 1919 as the 24th Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, and from July 21, 1923 to November 14, 1927, Admiral Eberle served as the Navy’s 3d Chief of Naval Operations.
