The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Second Lieutenant (Armor) Julian Knox Morrison, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 326th Tank Battalion, Tank Corps, American Expeditionary Forces, in the Bois-Quart-de-Reserve, France, 12 September 1918. Preceding his tanks on foot, Lieutenant Morrison captured a machine-gun nest. Though he was twice wounded, he continued inaction for two days thereafter.
