Wright (ASN: 2339546), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company I, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Nesles, France, 15 July 1918. After he had been severely wounded, Sergeant Wright remained on duty through a heavy shell and gas bombardment, rendering valuable assistance to his platoon commander.
