    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Sergeant Fabian Wadman Wright (ASN: 544384), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Headquarters Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Crezancy, France, 15 July 1918. Under constant high-explosive and shrapnel fire, Sergeant Wright remained exposed for 19 hours, observing the movements of the enemy, obtaining information of the most value.

Wright (ASN: 544384), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the World War I Victory Medals awarded him. While serving with Headquarters Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, Sergeant Wright remained at his observation post for 19 hours near Crezancy, France, on 15 July 1918, under constant high explosive and shrapnel fire and observed the enemy and the action of our troops, thereby gaining valuable information, which was impossible to gain otherwise.
