The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Corporal Arthur Jesse Winslow (ASN: 68768), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company H, 103d Infantry Regiment, 26th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Bois-de-St. Remy, France, 12 September 1918. Rushing from shell hole to shell hole, Corporal Winslow reached an enemy trench; and, having flanked a machine-gun killed the gunner and took the remaining members of the crew as prisoners.
