The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Kenneth Watts (ASN: 2857069), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company B, 360th Infantry Regiment, 90th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, at Andevanne, France, 2 November 1918. Sent with another runner from battalion headquarters to deliver a message to a front line company, Private Watts made his way through the enemy fire and when his comrade was wounded, delivered the message, then he rescued his wounded companion, carrying him under heavy fire to a dressing station. He then returned to duty.
