The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private First Class Archie Ralston Timblin (ASN: 2163514), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company F, 131st Infantry Regiment, 33d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Butgneville, France, 11 November 1918. Voluntarily facing heavy machine-gun fire, Private First Class Timblin advanced 100 yards ahead of our lines to bring back wounded soldiers. He showed absolute disregard for personal danger in his work of rescue.
