The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Corporal Patrick Synott (ASN: 1214545), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company F, 108th Infantry Regiment, 27th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Ronssoy, France, 28 September 1918. Corporal Synott displayed exceptional bravery in leaving shelter and going forward under heavy shell and machine-gun fire and bringing back several wounded soldiers.
