The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private William Seigler (ASN: 2667022), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company A, 146th Infantry Regiment, 37th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Ivoiry, France, 28 September 1918. Private Seigler repeatedly volunteered and carried messages under heavy enemy bombardment until he was severely wounded.
