The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Private Robin Sandh (ASN: 1633477), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Machine-Gun Company, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Montfaucon, France, 3 October 1918. Private Sandh repeatedly carried messages to front-line platoons through heavy artillery and machine-gun fire. While en route to an exposed machine-gun position, under heavy fire of the enemy, he was killed by a shell fragment.
