Silvey, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action in France while serving as Aide-de-Camp to Brigadier General William R. Dahiell, commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade, in the Vosges Mountains and Gerardnier sector, and in the Meuse Argonne, during World War I.
