    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Corporal Arthur Harlow Quick (ASN: 125229), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Headquarters Company, 6th Field Artillery, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, at Villers Tournelle, Cantigny sector, France, on 1 May 1918. Corporal Quick displayed distinguished bravery in leaving his shelter during a heavy bombardment and going to the assistance of a wounded man who was lying exposed in the open.

Quick, United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Corporal Quick distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Headquarters Company, 6th Field Artillery, 1st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action during World War I. Corporal Quick displayed distinguished bravery in leaving his shelter during a heavy bombardment and going to the assistance of a wounded man who was lying exposed in the open. While executing this mission he was twice knocked to the ground by the blast of shells but succeeded in bringing the wounded men to cover.
