The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Corporal Alexander Postmoy (ASN: 541717), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company F, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Fossoy, France, 15 July 1918. After being seriously wounded by machine gun fire, Corporal Postmoy remained on duty at his observation post at the river edge, so that the enemy could not cross unobserved.
