The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Anthony Peronace (ASN: 2338196), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company B, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Gland, France, 21 July 1918. With his platoon leader and one other soldier, Private Peronace captured an enemy machine-gun and eight prisoners.
