The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Bugler Adam Patarcity (ASN: 1280804), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company F, 114th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Verdun, France. 12 October 1918. Bugler Patarcity held his position in the face of an enemy counterattack, silenced with his pistol one machine-gun nest, and, unaided, brought in three prisoners from another.
