The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Corporal Isaac Manley Newton (ASN: 1316085), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company H, 119th Infantry Regiment, 30th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Bellicourt, France, 29 September 1918. With another soldier, Corporal Newton attacked and destroyed two enemy machine-gun posts, 200 yards in advance of our fines. While the other soldier stood guard at the entrance of a dugout, he entered it and brought out 75 German soldiers and three officers, who were taken back to our lines as prisoners.
