    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to First Sergeant David Nadeau (ASN: 550836), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company F, 38th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Mezy, France, July 15 – 19, 1918. Sergeant Nadeau remained on duty throughout the battle of the Marne July 15 to 19, although seriously wounded, and rendered valuable assistance in sustaining the morale and managing the troops in the line.
