Moore (ASN: 2176366), United States Army, is cited by the Commanding General, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Supply Sergeant Moore distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 353d Infantry Regiment, 89th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, in action in the Mort Mare Woods, France, 12 September 1918, in alone capturing an enemy machine gun and putting the crew out of action.
