The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Sergeant Lotus N. Mobley (ASN: 240329), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company L, 102d Infantry Regiment, 26th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Trugny, France, 23 July 1918. Sergeant Mobley displayed exceptional courage in dashing into field under heavy shell and machine-gun fire, and carrying to safety a wounded man.
