Lucia (ASN: 2340082), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company M, 4th Infantry Regiment, 3d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Le Channel, France, 27 July 1918. Private Lucia volunteered to carry an important message through a heavy artillery barrage, after several other runners had reported that they could not get through. He succeeded in his mission.
