The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Bronislaw Kacprzyzki (ASN: 17291), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Medical Detachment, 9th Infantry Regiment (Attached), 2d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Jaulny, France, 12 September 1918. Private Kacprzyzki, with three other soldiers, volunteered to carry wounded men of their companies from in front of our advanced positions and carried this work on under violent machine-gun fire while a counterattack was developing.
