The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Cook Ragnvold G. Johnson (ASN: 2256921), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company B, 361st Infantry Regiment, 91st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Gesnes, France, September 29 to 1 October 1918. Under heavy shell fire, and badly wounded, Cook Johnson constantly assisted for three days in cooking for an entire battalion in the front line.
