The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Ingemann Jensen (ASN: 1391466), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Machine-Gun Company, 132d Infantry Regiment, 33d Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Bois-du-Fays, France, 9 October 1918. In the action in the Bois-du-Fays, on 9 October Private Jensen was wounded, but returned to the line as soon as he had his wound dressed. He was wounded the second time and sent to the first-aid station, where he was ordered to the rear, but, instead returned to the line, where he was wounded for the third time and carried to the rear on a stretcher.
