The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Private Harry B. Insley (ASN: 1284383), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company C, 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Sivry, France, 8 October 1918. Working his way over ground swept by machine-gun fire, Private Insley attacked an enemy machine-gun which was harassing our advance from the rear, shot one of the crew, mortally wounded the gunner, and returned to his command with the enemy gun.
