The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross (Posthumously) to Corporal George T. Dugat (ASN: 2260152), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company D, 362d Infantry Regiment, 91st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Epinonville, France, 26 September 1918. Corporal Dugat, in company with two other soldiers, while advancing well to the front of the company as scouts, encountered eight enemy machine guns and four snipes, which by brave action and good judgment were put out of action and the enemy killed or captured.
