Dill (ASN: 557748), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with Company B, 47th Infantry Regiment, 4th Division, American Expeditionary Forces, at Sergy, France, 1 August 1918. After being wounded twice while he was carrying a message, Private Dill bandaged his wounds under fire and delivered his message.
