    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Captain (Infantry) Eugene S. Cohn, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in action while serving with 364th Infantry Regiment, 91st Division, American Expeditionary Forces, near Exmorieux Farm, France, 2 October 1918. After being painfully wounded by shrapnel, Captain Cohn refused to go to the rear and remained on duty with his company in the front line without medical attention for 54 hours.
